Staff Nurse

Job Purpose: To provide medical information and services provided by the SperaVita Method.

Program Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to the SperaVita Method, providing quality and consistent care.
2. Perform pregnancy tests and collect STI tests as needed.
3. Provide STI treatment according to protocol by preparing and administering prescriptions and reporting to the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (IDHHS).
4. Take a basic health history and provide education to the patient according to the nursing script.
5. Work together with the advocate and other nurses or sonographers to determine, according to the patient process, the next steps for the patient.
6. Perform the closing procedure with patients as needed, according to Her Health’s protocols and the SperaVita Method.
7. Provide accurate documentation and communication, both written and verbal.
8. Perform additional duties as requested.
9. Willingness to work at an alternate Her Health Women’s Center location when needed.
10. Demonstrates strong servant leadership by supporting and promoting harmony and a ministry of restoration/reconciliation modeled after Christ’s example; serving patients and volunteers effectively and lovingly; and supporting and promoting the mission, vision, statement of faith, and core values of Her Health Women’s Center.

Personnel or Fiscal Responsibilities:

1. None, unless assigned by the Director of Nursing

Spiritual Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a personal walk with Christ
2. Maintain prayer as the greater work.
        a. Pray continually throughout the day
        b. Staff prayer at 8:30 AM (when feasible) and/or prayer with coworker(s) before start of shift
3. Trust the Holy Spirit to work in your life and in the lives of the patients you are serving.
4. Maintain unity in the workplace.

Community Responsibilities:

1. Represent the organization at community events as directed by the Director of Nursing and/or Executive Director.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Attend mandatory quarterly training and medical staff meetings as required.
2. Support organizational fundraising and all-staff events.
3. Assist at fundraising events as requested.

Qualifications:
1. Meet the requirements per Her Health Women’s Center staff/volunteer application.
2. Maintain RN or LPN degree, licensure, and IDHHS mandatory reporting certification.
3. Fulfill training in the nursing procedures of the Center.
