Nurse Supervisor

To supervise and oversee nursing staff and ensure the delivery of high-quality, consistent patient care aligned with the SperaVita Method, organizational standards, and guidelines at both Sioux City and Le Mars locations.

Program Responsibilities:

1. Ensure consistent, high-quality patient care in alignment with the SperaVita Method and ethical standards.
2. Assist with the ordering, inventory, and proper use of medical supplies.
3. Ensure accurate and timely communication with external partners, including labs and testing facilities, such as the Center for Disease Detection. Maintain the validity of the CLIA waivers.
4. Plan and facilitate regular nursing staff meetings to address updates, training, and department needs.
5. Supervise the operations of the medical office, ensuring compliance with safety, cleanliness, and regulatory standards.
6. Provide direct patient care as needed to support the team.
7. Maintain accurate and secure documentation of patient information, follow-up calls, and correspondence.
8. Support the Director of Nursing in the potential expansion of service hours and the expansion of STI testing.
9. Report departmental updates and personnel issues to DON regularly to ensure alignment and effective communication.
10. Assist DON to develop, implement, and update nursing policies and procedures as necessary.
11. Assist DON with Sexually Transmitted Infection Lessons in coordination with the Healthy Relationships Education Manager.
12. Demonstrates strong servant leadership by supporting and promoting harmony and a ministry of restoration/reconciliation modeled after Christ’s example; serving patients and volunteers effectively and lovingly; and supporting and promoting the mission, vision, statement of faith, and core values of Her Health Women’s Center.

Personnel Responsibilities:

1. Provide leadership, supervision, and support to nursing staff, fostering teamwork and professional growth.
2. Act as the primary liaison between nursing staff and directors.
3. Assist the Director of Nursing with interviewing and onboarding new nursing personnel.
4. Manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for patient care.
5. Organize and lead department-specific training sessions as needed.
6. If needed, assist with annual performance evaluations for nursing staff and address performance issues proactively.
7. Audit patient and department records for quality assurance and compliance.

Spiritual Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a personal walk with Christ
2. Participate in team prayer meetings daily
3. Pray with Nurses/Advocates who are going to meet with the patients at the start of the shift
4. Trust the Holy Spirit to work in your life and in the lives of the patients you serve

Fiscal Responsibilities:
1. Assist, as needed, the Director of Nursing in managing the nursing department's budget.

Community Responsibilities:

1. Represent the organization at community events as directed by the Director of Nursing and/or Executive Director.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Attend staff and department meetings as required.
2. Support organizational fundraising and all-staff events.
3. Assist with Appointment calls.

Qualifications

1. Active RN licensure required
2. Iowa Department of Health and Human Services Mandatory Reporting Certification required
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
5. Commitment to upholding the mission and values of the organization.
6. Fulfill nurse sonography training according to the Center’s Ultrasound protocol.
