Director of Advancement
The Director of Advancement (DA) is responsible for leading and managing Her Health Women’s Center’s fundraising,
marketing, public relations, and community engagement efforts. This role builds and nurtures relationships with donors, churches, community groups, and partners to secure financial and community support. Working closely with the Executive Director, the DA sets and implements strategies that align with the mission, vision, and goals of Her Health Women’s Center.
Key Responsibilities:
Donor Relations, Fundraising, and Resource Development
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy that supports the organization’s short- and long-term financial goals.
2. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, foundation, and church donors.
3. Plan and oversee major fundraising campaigns and events (e.g., banquets, Diaper Dash, baby bottle campaigns).
4. Manage donor communications, acknowledgments, and recognition programs.
5. Research and apply for grant opportunities aligned with the mission of Her Health Women’s Center.
6. Evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.
Marketing and Public Relations
1. Lead the creation and execution of marketing strategies to raise awareness and promote the mission of Her
Health Women’s Center.
2. Oversee the design, production, and distribution of promotional materials across print, digital, and broadcast media.
3. Ensure consistency and excellence across all communications channels, including newsletters, website, social
media, and press releases.
4. Serve as a spokesperson for the organization in the community, media, and at public events.
Church and Community Engagement
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with local churches, para-church ministries, businesses, and community organizations.
2. Develop partnerships and events to increase engagement, attract volunteers, and grow the support base.
3. Represent the organization in civic groups and public forums to promote the ministry and develop new opportunities.
Leadership and Administration
1. Supervise Development Department staff and volunteers, promoting a culture of collaboration and Christ-centered service.
2. Collaborate with the Executive Director to set annual goals, track progress, and report key metrics.
3. Ensure accurate recordkeeping and confidentiality in donor databases and communications.
4. Participate in strategic planning, organizational development, and policy implementation.
5. With ED and Center legal counsel, ensures that the organization is complying with and abiding by all fundraising and charitable solicitation laws.
Spiritual Aspects Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrates strong servant leadership by supporting and promoting harmony and a ministry of restoration/reconciliation modeled after Christ’s example; serving clients and volunteers effectively and lovingly, and supporting and promoting the mission, vision, statement of faith, and core values of Her Health Women’s Center.
2. Offers prayer support to and shares the gospel with donors and friends of the Center as requested and appropriate.
3. Joins in Team Prayer when at Her Health Women’s Center.
4. Uphold Her Health Women’s Center’s Statement of Faith, mission, and core values.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field (required).
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, sales, public relations, or nonprofit development.
3. Strong understanding of fundraising strategies, donor development, and event planning.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Proven ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, churches, and volunteers.
6. Strong organizational and leadership skills with experience managing teams and projects.
7. Proficient in donor database management and digital marketing tools.
8. Demonstrated commitment to the sanctity of life and alignment with the organization’s Christian mission.
9. Proven track record in working with a larger annual operating budget
10. Ability to work cooperatively – with a Christian servant's heart – as part of a team.
11. Ability and willingness to demonstrate commitment to the organization’s mission, vision, core operational values,
and core beliefs in the execution of position responsibilities.
12. Willingness to share the gospel of Jesus Christ by word and example to all organization constituents and to contribute to an office environment conducive to supporting the organization’s ministry of life.
