Salary: $500 per session (negotiable)/5 sessions per year

Organization and Location:
The position of CNA Coordinator is remote. CNA courses are taught at the Hawk Building in Winnebago, NE
Purpose of Position:
The purpose of the CNA Coordinator position is to ensure the compliance and operational integrity of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program. This role involves managing all necessary documentation for regulatory compliance with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), including submitting course schedules, program changes, and renewals. The CNA coordinator is also responsible for auditing student and instructor attendance records to verify completion of required training hours, managing student records, and serving as the primary liaison with the State Auditor for program reviews and inquiries.
The CNA Coordinator will oversee the CNA Instructor's performance and training sessions through a combination of remote and occasional in-person supervision. The coordinator will ensure alignment with program goals, maintain communication protocols, and provide feedback to enhance the quality of instruction.
Job Responsibilities:
Compliance Documentation
Complete and submit required paperwork to the DHHS. The required paperwork includes the 5-day course notifications, official course schedule, program changes (new instructors, adding course material, etc.), the 2-year program renewal, and response to any survey findings.
Student Record Management
Audit student attendance records, specifically verifying that each CNA student has completed the required 76 contact hours. In addition to attendance records, the CNA coordinator should also review any exams completed, and the skill sign-off sheets to ensure the student was tested on each skill and the record includes the dates and signature of the instructor. Maintain and file instructor's attendance records on-site for review during survey visits.
Program Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for the State Auditor, responding to any inquiries related to the CNA program. During the 2-year survey, the CNA coordinator must be available to answer questions, provide records, and be available so surveyors can access the classrooms. If any recommendations are provided because of the 2-year survey, the CNA coordinator must prepare the response and provide additional documentation for review as part of the plan of correction. In addition, if the DHHS receives complaints or needs information throughout the year, the CNA coordinator should be able to answer questions and respond. Additionally, the CNA coordinator must thoroughly understand all facets and regulations of the nurse aide training program.
Key Responsibilities:
Real-Time Video Monitoring and Communication:
Utilize platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams to observe on-site training sessions conducted by the CNA instructor.
Provide immediate feedback or intervention when necessary.Scheduled Check-Ins and Live Updates:
Conduct regular virtual meetings with the instructor before, during, or after training sessions.
Review lesson plans, discuss progress, address challenges, and ensure adherence to program objectives.Shared Digital Tools for Oversight:
Use tools such as LPTC’s SharePoint Microsoft or HOWERA Drive to access shared documents, including lesson plans, attendance records, and student evaluations.
Maintain organized documentation for effective supervision.Remote Observation of Practical Skills:
Supervise hands-on training by having the on-site instructor livestream skill demonstrations.
Ensure compliance with training standards during practical sessions.Clear Communication Protocols:
Establish instant communication systems (e.g., messaging apps or direct calls) for quick support during live sessions.
Address any issues in real-time to maintain training quality.Periodic On-Site Visits (if Feasible):
Supplement virtual supervision with occasional in-person visits to observe training sessions directly and build rapport with the instructor.Training and Feedback Loops:
Conduct virtual training sessions for instructors to reinforce expectations and address areas for improvement.
Provide recorded feedback based on observed sessions to promote continuous development.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
Current RN license eligible to work in NE.
Must have a total of at least 2 years of nursing experience as a licensed nurse
LPN and RN experience would count, but CNA experience would not.
This requirement can be met in ANY setting, including hospital, clinic, long-term care, home care, etc.
Must have at least 1 year of nursing experience as a licensed nurse in the provision of long-term care facility services
LPN and RN experience would count, but CNA experience would not.
This requirement must be met only by experience in a nursing home or assisted living facility.
Experience in nursing education and curriculum development, preferred.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
Knowledge of accreditation standards and processes.
Experience with program assessment and evaluation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational software.
Proficiency in using remote communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
Experience with digital file-sharing platforms like SharePoint or similar systems.
Commitment to student success and professional development.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.Travel:
Occasional travel may be required.
Condition of Employment:
This is a 100% remote position.
Must pass a pre-employment criminal background screen.
Must be able to pass a drug screening.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under Tribe’s insurance.
