Enrollment Counselor

Buena Vista University's Online Programs is seeking an Enrollment Counselor to join our team, based at the BVU office on the Western Iowa Tech Community College campus in Sioux City. This role plays a key part in connecting prospective students with educational opportunities and supporting BVU's mission to expand access to higher education.

The Enrollment Counselor serves as a primary point of contact for prospective students, guiding them through the enrollment process while building strong relationships with community partners and representing BVU throughout the region. Enrollment Counselors are often the first meaningful connection students have with Buena Vista University. In this role, you will help prospective students navigate important decisions about their education, provide personalized guidance, and create a welcoming and supportive experience that empowers students to take the next step toward achieving their academic and professional goals. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Manage geographic territory to generate interest in Buena Vista University through outreach, events, classroom visits, and community engagement. 
• Build and maintain stromg relationships with community college partners, prospective students, and other community constituents. 
• Serve as the primary point of contact for prosepective students, counseling them from inital inquiry through application and, in some cases, beyond. 
• Conduct daily outreach and follow-up with prospective students via phone, email, text, and Microsoft Teams, and other communication channels. 
• Maintains strong proficiency in BVU's customer relationship management system by ensuring accurate data entry and detailed documentation of student interactions. 
• Support recruitment events, fairs, and virtual activities, representing BVU in a professional and student-centered manner. 
• Track recruitment efforts and contribute ideas to improve outreach strategies and conversion outcomes.
• Collaborate with enrollment team members and provide support during events or colleague absences, including event coverage and student communication.
