Development Director

Are you looking for a creative, fun, challenging, and meaningful career? The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, a non-profit organization located on Sioux City’s Missouri Riverfront is seeking a part-time Development Director.
??This person will be responsible for the growth and implementation of the development and marketing strategies and activities to assure for funding of the annual, capital, and endowment needs of the organization and to assure that the organization’s mission is properly presented to various publics.
Includes cultivation and stewardship of current and prospective donors, managing and writing grants, special events planning and marketing, and serving as a spokesperson for the organization.
??Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree – prefer major in fund development or business, minor in marketing, public affairs or related discipline and experience in a mid-level fundraising position or related field such as sales management. Applicant needs effective oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to supervise and motivate volunteers and staff.
Additionally strong analytical and problem solving skills, sound computer skills including word processing and database management, an understanding of the non-profit sector, ability to work flexible hours, a valid driver’s license, and access to a personal vehicle.
This is an exempt part-time position, starting at 20 hours per week. Some weekday work expected (primarily Monday-Friday 8am-5pm) with evening and weekend work as needed to support special events and meetings. Annual salary DOE.
