Position Purpose:

Provide a safe comfortable environment for children from birth to four years in an ethical, legal and moral manner consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. Under the direction of the Unit Coordinator, the Daycare Supervisor is responsible for the management and daily operations of the daycare.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in early childhood education, child development or elementary education preferred.
  • Highschool diploma or GED.
  • Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) or one year diploma in child development from a community college or technical school.

Qualifications:

  • Achieved Iowa Department of Human Services required 100 points per 441 IAC 109.6(1).
  • One year of demonstrated supervisory experience (preferred).
  • One-year related work experience (required).
  • Obtain/maintain Adult/Child/Infant CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Obtain/maintain Adult/Child/Infant First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Obtain/Maintain Mandatory Reporter training/certification within six months of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Implement and coordinate the organization and delivery of safe, quality day care services as required by licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine day care program to better serve the needs of children served.
  • Supervise daycare staff and assure appropriate care is rendered to children, report changes in health and/or behavior to parents, program nurses, and counselors.
  • Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and with the framework of the law.
  • Maintain awareness of financial resources of the daycare center and coordinate as necessary.
  • Develop objective quality standards for areas of responsibility and manage productivity.
  • Create clear performance expectations and deliver timely and constructive feedback to direct service staff in a supportive and vision-enhancing manner.
  • Assist with hiring staff and provide opportunities for their professional development.
  • Maintain current, accurate and confidential files.
  • Understand and comply with all the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.

  • Serve as a role model for other staff, clients, and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.

  • Assume other related responsibilities as delegated and assigned.

Schedule: 8 hour shifts

  • Day shift 7:30AM – 3:30PM
  • Monday-Friday
