Energy Plant Manager
We’re Hiring: Energy Plant Manager
Wayne State College is seeking an Energy Plant Manager to lead a team and oversee the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of the campus energy plant and utility systems.
What You’ll Do:
• Supervise, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate full- and part-time staff
• Promote a safe, productive work environment and ensure policies and procedures are followed
• Coordinate operation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, sensors, and other energy plant equipment
• Oversee utility tunnel system operations and maintenance
• Manage work requests and preventative maintenance through the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Maintain inventories of supplies and equipment
• Monitor and maintain the chemistry of campus closed-loop heating and cooling systems
• Identify opportunities for energy and utility efficiencies and provide input on budgets
• Work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and campus visitors
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Energy & Utilities
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of related experience
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures and perform physical tasks, including lifting 75+ lbs.
Schedule: Typically, Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–4 p.m., with occasional flexibility to provide coverage for the 24/7 energy plant.
