Assistant Director-Admissions

Nature of Work: Develop and implement a student recruitment strategy with specialization in new transfer students. Contribute to the overall recruitment efforts of the college as well as plan and implement programs and recruiting activities for attracting new students. Non-standard hours and travel will be required.

Examples of Work Performed:

  1. Meet enrollment goals for new transfer student recruitment
  2. Present the College and the Admissions profession in a positive way to diverse populations of transfer students
  3. Provide supervision to Project Coordinator
  4. Report progress of transfer recruitment efforts
  5. Oversee transfer student ambassador program
  6. Assist in maintaining transfer credit database
  7. Maintain knowledge of and current list of articulated agreements with community college partners with special focus on recruitment to these particular programs
  8. Serve as a liaison to the academic units to develop new transfer opportunities
  9. Maintain regular office hours at leased office space at the local community college
  10. Serve as point of contact for returning undergraduate students to assist with the admission and enrollment process
  11. Meet with prospective transfer students by phone, email, virtual, or face to face to facilitate the admission and transfer process
  12. Maintain appropriate follow-up communication with students regarding the status of their applications for admission and transfer process
  13. Develop and refresh annually transfer recruitment plan and communication efforts
  14. Serve as a liaison between transfer students and respective college staff
  15. Work closely with the other college departments and staff to identify student needs in the Admission and transfer process
  16. Represent the College at area community colleges, and various college fairs
  17. Develop an effective working relationship with community college staff
  18. Plan and coordinate recruitment activities for transfer students including campus visit programs, enrollment programs, tele-counseling and group experiences
  19. Serve as back up support to undergraduate recruitment staff if and when needed
  20. Schedule and carry out travel including loading and transporting admission materials, displays and other equipment
  21. Participate in College committee work and campus events
  22. Participate in state, regional and national professional associations, and conferences
  23. Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills.
• Public speaking skills that include diverse populations.
