Governed by a local board of directors\, Sunrise has been serving seniors from Sioux City and the surrounding area since 1959. Over the years\, services and living options have expanded to provide a full care continuum including\, independent living\, affordable housing for seniors\, Medicare skilled/rehab services\, long-term nursing care\, nursing memory care\, assisted living and assisted living memory care. Their mission statement is "Sunrise enhances the lives of seniors by providing comprehensive care and a high quality of life with excellence\, compassion\, and integrity." Sunrise has served more than 7\,500 residents in its 66-year history. Sunrise pioneered both independent senior living and memory care in Siouxland\, offering more than 100 independent living units on their 33-acre campus and providing memory care services in both nursing and assisted living settings.
