Product Management/ Component Technician

Hours: 6:00AM - 6:00PM Friday, Saturday, Sunday

This position is responsible for preparing components from whole blood and apheresis blood collections in a manner that ensures the highest quality blood products for our customers. This position is also responsible for the timely and appropriate handling of orders, packing and shipping of blood products, billing and record keeping of blood products and services for all customers. This position manages inventory resources ensuring minimum wastage, and ensures the highest level of customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES as follows, and other duties as assigned:
*Perform distribution procedures according to established policy and SOP.
*Receipt and acknowledgement of orders
*Packing and shipping of blood products (Red Blood Cells, Plasma, Platelets)
*Irradiation of blood products
*Inventory control through the tracking and movement of blood products throughout internal and external distribution sites
*Perform component manufacturing procedures according to established policy and SOP
*Processing of Red Blood Cells and Plasma products
*Processing of random platelets derived from whole blood
*Processing of apheresis and acrodose platelets
*Processing of cryoprecipitate
*Perform review of component manufacturing, distribution, component modification and equipment related documentation,  as well as release of quality control results
*Perform and document quality control, calibration and maintenance tasks.
*Identify, troubleshoot and document problems that may influence the quality or completion of shipping and component manufacturing.
*Assist with writing, review and evaluation of SOPs.
*Assist with validation of new equipment and processes.
*Direct and perform training of staff members.
*Maintains regular attendance and availability
*Maintains confidentiality of LifeServe Blood Center donor, employee, financial and proprietary records and information at all times.

*High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or higher preferred.
*The individual must meet CLIA requirements for testing personnel performing moderate complexity testing.
*Minimum 6 months product management or related experience required.
