Job Description
SUMMARY:  The Production Scheduler is responsible for coordinating production and shipping schedules to meet market demand for product produced at the processing plants.  The position must maintain excellent communication between sales, manufacturing, transportation and distribution.        
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Provide production schedule for plant operations
Track actual production to insure timely production of all products
Accountable for production attainment and related goals
Set priorities for plant production.Distribute production needs between shifts and set schedules for operations to insure optimum schedule attainment while maximizing plant efficiencies and yield.
Ensure pass down information/action items are coordinated between different shifts
Identify production overruns and shortages.Identify solutions to either solve or at least mitigate these issues moving forward from reoccurring.
Adjust daily production schedules as needs arise.
Check/manage production holds, Suspentech, Export or Off The Cut that may impact schedule attainment.
Work with shipping to determine future load sequences.Will communicate process changes or issues to insure adjustments to load sequences are made as far in advance as possible to ensure customer service levels are adhered to.
Lead scheduling weekly reviews on performance with corporate scheduling teams
Attend the daily cross functional meetings
Support schedule attainment performance reporting and help maintain accuracy targets
Track labor availability for all production areas of the plant
Accumulate labor availability for each production area of the plant
If or when labor is short, scheduler will work with operations to determine optimum work force distribution.Changes will be communicated to corporate scheduling and sales.
Maintain base availability for PA system
Identify constraints and apply production limits where applicable.
Identify process changes, i.e. breaks, and make adjustments in PA system where needed.
Make adjustments and communicate changes in product availability when downtime or labor issues occur.Communicate changes with corporate scheduling where needed.
