Veterinary Technician Instructor

General Description
The purpose of this position is to instruct classes and labs as assigned by the Dean and to develop new courses. This is accomplished by maintaining requisite office hours; providing academic advisement to students; serving on college committees; attending meetings; participating in professional development activities; and performing all instructional-related activities as directed within the policies, guidelines, and regulations of Northeast Community College. Providing care and treatment for both large and small animals within the College’s veterinary clinic is integral to delivering instruction for the Veterinary Technology program. Instructor will demonstrate best practice and compliance with AVMA standards in providing veterinary care and clinic management.

Licensed DVM with knowledge and skills in veterinary best practice for treating both large and small animals. Excellent communication skills, and ability to relate well with colleagues, students, and the public in a variety of situations. Teamwork, flexibility, critical thinking, innovation and initiative. Knowledge and efficient use of office/classroom technology and basic software.

DVM and Licensed to practice in the state of Nebraska is required for this position.

Three years of professional experience in Veterinary practice is required. Two years of teaching experience is also preferred.

Special Instructions to Applicants – Candidates selected for an interview will be required to present a 15-20 minute teaching demonstration focusing on the subject matter of the position.
