Health Information Management Systems (HIMS) Instructor/Director
The purpose of this position is to instruct classes and labs as assigned by the Dean and to develop new courses. This is accomplished by maintaining requisite office hours; providing academic advisement to students; serving on college committees; attending meetings; participating in professional development activities; and performing all instructional-related activities as directed within the policies, guidelines, and regulations of Northeast Community College.
Bachelor’s Degree in a medical related field from an accredited program is required. RHIA or RHIT certification is also required.
Teaching experience in Higher Ed. Professional work experience in medical office management, coding, HIM, privacy, electronic records, or any other health related field.
5+ years working inside the medical field.
This program is accredited with the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The ideal candidate must hold the AHIMA credential and be either be RHIA or RHIT certified.
