Business/Economics Instructor

The purpose of this position is to instruct classes and labs as assigned by the Dean and to develop new courses. This is accomplished by maintaining requisite office hours; providing academic advisement to students; serving on college committees; attending meetings; participating in professional development activities; and performing all instructional-related activities as directed within the policies, guidelines, and regulations of Northeast Community College.

A master’s degree in economics or business administration with graduate hours in economics preferred.

Three years of business experience (owning, operating, or managing), and one to three years of teaching or training experience required.

Applicant should possess excellent oral and written communication skills; expertise in business, economics, management, marketing, and sales. Successful candidate will have exceptional computer skills using Microsoft Office and instructional technology including distance learning technology.

Applicant must be able to work collaboratively with others in the division and across the college at a variety of levels. Candidates selected for an interview will be required to present a 15-20 minute teaching demonstration focusing on the law of diminishing returns during the interview process.
