The purpose of this position is to provide support to enrolled students, specifically to students assigned within the First Year Advising model, Kiewit scholars and students pursuing a non-traditional career for their gender, to improve their probability of success so that they will retain from semester to semester, persist until graduation and, if applicable, have positive transfer experiences. This is accomplished by providing academic and career advising, assisting students in navigating college processes, acting as a liaison between students and faculty, staff and transfer institutions, utilizing a variety of modalities (face-to-face, social media, telephone, email) to deliver services, participating in college and departmental retention activities, and possessing a comprehensive understanding of the transfer process.
Education: Bachelors degree in a related field required. Applicants who do not meet the degree requirement will only be hired conditioned on obtainment of a bachelor’s degree.
Experience: Previous experience in higher education providing services directly to students and demonstrated experience with project planning and implementation is preferred.
