The Siouxland/Washington Conference, held every spring since 1954, offers a unique opportunity to join community leaders from the tri-state area in traveling to Washington, DC, to present regional priorities to our Congressional delegation. Conference attendees engage in discussions with all six Senators representing Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota, as well as the eight Representatives from these states. The two-day schedule is packed with meetings on Capitol Hill, including sessions with key department officials and representatives focused on our priority issues. This tradition-rich event also features a steak reception on the first evening, allowing participants to mingle informally with the tri-state Congressional delegation.

The Siouxland Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce our first-ever Workforce Signing Day, taking place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Tyson Events Center. For this inaugural event, we have partnered with Bishop Heelan Catholic High School, Dakota Valley School District, Elk Point-Jefferson School District, Sergeant Bluff-Luton Community School District, Sioux City Career Academy, Sioux City Community School District, Siouxland Christian School, and the South Sioux City Community School District, to identify graduating seniors who have chosen to enter the workforce or serve in the military rather than pursue a post-secondary education. However, if your company has identified a graduating senior you plan to hire following graduation, please email Laura Hartman and we will make sure they are included in this special event.
This event was created to celebrate students who are entering the workforce after graduation and give them their own moment of recognition. It also provides an opportunity to highlight our Chamber members who are investing in and retaining young talent right here in Siouxland.

 The Siouxland Chamber of Commerce, SIMPCO, Siouxland District Health Department, Downtown Partners, and the City of Sioux City have partnered together again this year to host Bike to Work Day. Bike to Work Day, endorsed by the U.S. Department of Transportation and promoted by the League of American Bicyclists, is part of a national effort throughout the month of May to highlight the benefits of bicycling and to offer proof that it is feasible to leave the car at home for some commutes.
Trade your car for your bike for the Sioux City Metro Bike to Work Day on May 15th. If you can't bike all the way from home, don't worry, you can still participate. Bring your bike to work, unload it, ride some of our tri-state trails, and then stop by the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce for a complimentary breakfast, health & fitness vendors, and a chance to win prizes. Breakfast is hosted in the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce parking lot from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM. Bike to Work Day t-shirts are available for purchase at the Siouxland Chamber for $10 and will be available at the event.

Join us as we celebrate Sunrise Retirement Community's 65th anniversary! Following the ribbon cutting, there will be a memorial tree planting and refreshments.
Sunrise Retirement Community is Siouxland’s only community-based 501(c)(3) non-profit senior care community. Governed by a local board of directors, Sunrise has been serving seniors from Sioux City and the surrounding area since 1961. Over the years, services and living options have expanded to provide a full care continuum including, independent living, affordable housing for seniors, Medicare skilled/rehab services, long-term nursing care, nursing memory care, assisted living and assisted living memory care. Their mission statement is “Sunrise enhances the lives of seniors by providing comprehensive care and a high quality of life with excellence, compassion, and integrity.”
